kind of a start:/

POP! We can all point out that delightful smell that comes pouring out of our microwaves, or if your all old fashioned, the stove-top. Yep, you guessed it, popcorn!
I'm pretty sure we've all had popcorn at some point in our lives. Its kind of a traditional American snack, wouldn't you say? The original buttery, kinda salty taste typically reminds most people of the movies cinema. As a child i vividly remember staring into that huge fish tank, completely filled to the top with perfectly popped kernels of popcorn. Watching as the guy behind the counter fills each obnoxious cardboard tub till the point where it overflows with the finger-licking snack, i could feel nothing but pure jealousy. Why you may ask? The answer to that question can be answered simply because daddy said no. According to him, popcorn is a health no-no. But quess what dad?! EAT THIS.

The Amateur Gourmet

As I was skimming the various food blogs across the web, many i just disregarded from the first click. There were very, and i mean, very few that actually caught my interest. One of them being, The Amateur Gourmet. I saw this one on ChezPim's blog so i figured it must be some-what decent. When I clicked it, immediatly the banner across the top intrigues me. It was very welcoming and not the typical, boring, run of the mill title. As I scrolled down the blog, many different posts appeared. They weren't too long, and were straight to the point. I liked this aspect of the blog. It made it more enjoyable since i was able to actually read most of the posts instead of just skimming them. What also made this blog easy to navigate was the menu that went across the screen at the top right under the banner. It separated the recipes from the actually blog entries. Most blogs do not do this which is a real pain. Besides from the nice little menu, the blogger also posts videos! This was just an entertaining aspect that i really enjoyed!

Check this out.

Well, I was starting to lose all hope for finding a unique food blog that was different then all the others, when I came across a URL that had a very creative name; aaplemint.com. Adventurous me, decided to click on it and give it a shot. As soon as I got to the page, I knew it was worth reading more the URL. The first picture that showed up was of some exotic pineapple dish that was so beautifully put together, it looked like a piece of art. Not only did that spark my taste buds but the fact that they can make  food look so amazing, just blew my mind. As I scrolled down the blog, many other mouth-watering meals appeared. The thing that really caught my attention however was the way each dish was presented. From simple pina coladas to stuffed tomatoes, and beer-battered shrimp, everything looked perfect.
The design of the blog was very easy to navigate and understand as well. It had an easy to read menu with a variety of categories to click on. There is everything, from vegetarian recipes, to desserts, to cultural traditional dishes. This blog is by far, the most interesting one I have seen so far. It definitely gives me hope for mine!

Lets start this thing.

So, in honors english, were basically each making our own individual blogs. These, however, are not your typical blogs, they're food blogs:D Yummy! You're prob thinking, food blog? huh? To subside your wandering minds, a food blog is a blog about, well, food. We each had to chose a food that we felt was interesting and research it. In the end of all this mumble jumble, our finial product will be this blog, and one of the posts will be a 1,200 word essay on the chosen food item. It may sounds really hard and boring but i'm actually looking foward to it. I, personally have never had much experiance with blogging, if thats what you call it, so this is kind of a really interesting experiance for me.
You're prob now wondering what my food choice is. This decision was very difficult for me to make becuase, if you knew me, i have the attention span of a five year old so therefore, my topic needs to be really interesting so i can actually stick to researching it and completing this essay. At first, my topic was traditional Hungarian stuffed peppers. Now, your prob thinking "wtf.." but its not that weird if you think about it. You see, my great grandma made them all the time so i was kinda going for a sentimental value kind of feel. The only reason i can no longer do that topic is because all of the websites i went to were mainly in Hungarian, and no, i do not speak it. So basically what im trying to say through all this rambling is that i have now decided to chose pop corn. Yep, pop corn. delicious right? I know its kind of random but i figured, everyone loves popcorn so people will actually be interested in reading whatever i write. Yay, brownie points for me(:
so ill leave it at that for now and hopefully you actually read this whole post and know that im doing popcorn so you'll come back to read more:D

peace.
